My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hi loves,
I've never actually done a post like this before, so I'm pretty excited to talk a little about my everyday makeup routine tonight. After testing out numerous products, I've found these work best for me, so I want to share it with you all. Now I'm sure this post would be easier in video form, but I'm still not so confident in front of the camera, so yes, I did try filming this, but it was TERRIBLE.

Step 1: Primer
Products Used: Stila One Step Correct skin tone correcting & brightening serum, BH Cosmetics foundation brush in #5
Method: Pumping out a full pump of the Stila One Step Correct primer on the back of my hand, I use my middle finger to dot the product onto my face, then grab the BH Cosmetics foundation brush to spread the primer all over my face evenly.

Step 2: Under-eye Concealer

Products Used: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer, Chi Chi Cosmetics traditional beauty blender with slanted flat-top
Method: I apply the Maybelline concealer in a triangle shape underneath my eyes, then use the Chi Chi cosmetics beauty blender's pointy side to pat that into my skin to cover my dark circles.

Step 3: Shaping & Filling in Brows
Products Used: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in dark brown, Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow in shade #3, Savvy by DB spooli brush, Savvy by DB angled liner brush, Maybelline Fit ME Concealer in 25 Medium, BH Cosmetics flat liner brush in #10, Nude by Nature concealer brush
Method: Using the Savvy by DB spooli brush, I shape my brows so I can see clearly where the sparse areas are, then using my Savvy by DB angled liner brush, I pick up some product from the lighter side of the ABH brow powder duo and line the top and bottom parts of my brows, then colour it in using light strokes starting from the tail, working my way towards the centre and front.
Once I'm happy with the first layer of brow powder, I go in and used my Benefit cosmetics gimme brow and lightly fill in my brows to help it set my previous application of brow powder. Now, it may seem silly to add another layer of brow powder after I've already set it, but I find it works best this way with my brows - I use the darker side of the ABH brow powder duo to line the top and bottom parts of my brows starting from the center/closer to the tail, and then filling it any sparse areas.
Satisfied with the way my brows look, I then take some of the Maybelline Fit ME concealer and BH cosmetics flat liner brush to line my brows and help clean them up a bit. I then grab the Nude by Nature concealer brush to lightly blend the concealer underneath and on top of my brows.
*Side note: I go back consistently throughout this step and use my spooli brush so that the application doesn't look too harsh.

Step 4: Foundation

Products Used: Too Faced Born This Way liquid foundation, Nude by Nature buffing brush in #08
Method: Pumping half a pump of product onto the back of my hand, I use my middle finger to dot the foundation onto my face. Then using the Nude by Nature buffing brush I dab and buff the foundation into my face and neck. Sometimes, depending on whether my skin is co-operating with me or not, I'll add an extra half a pump, and do the method all over again for a second layer, but I usually am pleased with the coverage it provides for me in the first layer.

Step 5: Powder

Products Used: Face of Australia Translucent Loose Powder, Lottie London large face powder brush
Method: The way I use this is by tapping some product onto the lid of the container, then using my Lottie London large face powder brush, I swirl that around into the lid, and apply the product onto my T-zone and cheeks to set my foundation in place.

Step 6: Contour

Products Used: Benefit Cosmetics Cheekathon blush kit in Hoola, BH Cosmetics angled blush/bronzer brush in #1
Method: Using the angled blush and bronzer brush in #1 by BH cosmetics, I tap into the Hoola bronzer pan in the Cheekathon kit, and apply it onto my jawline and hairline. Then making a painful duck face pout, I apply some product lightly in an upward motion to bring back some lost colour to my face.

Step 7: Blush

Products Used: Colourpop Super Shock Cheek satin blush in Birthday Suit, Real Techniques buffing brush, Nude by Nature powder brush
Method: Now using the Real Techniques buffing brush, I swirl it into my Colourpop blush jar and apply in a circular motion onto the apples of my cheek until I'm satisfied with the shade. Then I use the Nude by Nature powder brush to blend out both the blush and the bronzer from before so that they're not too harsh on my face.

Step 8: Winged Liner

Products Used: Physicians Formula Eye-Booster liquid liner in Ultra Black, Maybelline Master Precise liquid liner in blackest black
Method: So using either liquid liner pen, I create a line about halfway from the corner of my eye to my eyebrow, then I line along my top lid lash line about three-quarters way. I bounce back to the flick, and connect the end of the flick towards the lined top lash line, building it up until it's at my preferred width and sharpness.
{I couldn't decide between my two favourite liquid liners, so I included both of them, seeing as I alternate between the two. I've been using the Maybelline Master Precise liquid liner for years now; basically ever since I started learning how to do my makeup. Liquid liner was quite ambitious for a beauty beginner, I must admit, but I'd always admired Lauren Conrad and her cat-eye look, so I strived to achieve that for years, and I've only just got the hang of it!}

Step 9: Curl Lashes & Mascara

Products Used: Maybelline Full 'n Soft Mascara, Manicare eyelash curler
Method: Basically I carefully place the lash curler on my eyelashes and hold it down to curl for about 5-10 seconds. Then I apply one full coat on my lashes, and usually go in for a second coat, if need be.
{I've only just recently added mascara into my everyday makeup routine, so I haven't quite got the tips and tricks down pat just yet, but when I first started using makeup, the Maybelline Full 'n Soft mascara was my first mascara purchase - don't fret, this is a brand new tube, just thought I'd give it another try to see if I love it or hate it. We're still on the fence about this one.}

Step 10: Highlighter

Products Used: Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighting powder, Real Techniques fan brush
Method: Now using the Real Techniques fan brush, I tap into the pressed highlighting powder pan, and apply the product onto the high points of my cheekbones and blend until I'm satisfied with the pigmentation and then have the ability to glow for days!

Step 11: Lips

Products Used: NYX Lip Lingerie in Bedtime Flirt, Colourpop Ultra Matte liquid lipstick in Trap
Method: Using the doe-foot applicator, I usually apply liquid lipsticks starting from my bottom lip and working my way up, following my own lips' outline, just like any normal person would do.
{Again, I struggled to choose just one lip product, so I went with two of my current favourites. I always decide between these two when I don't have time to think about which lip I want to go with for the day, so either one of these usually suffice.}

Well, that's my everyday makeup routine in an 11-step recipe. Let me know if you liked this post and would like more of these routine-types of posts.

Does your everyday makeup routine consist of 11 steps too?
What's your makeup routine like?

Filled with love,
Danica
