I'm extremely glad I finally found the perfect place to take my outfit photos at home. What's a better place than in my humble abode and place of serenity; my bedroom?!
I promise you, the moment you meet me, you'd know that I'm someone who's heavily obsessed with the colour pink. Either because I straight up say it, or because I'm wearing too much of it.
I went through a time in my adolescence where I denied ever liking the colour and convinced everyone that my favourite colour was purple. That's my peer pressure story in a nutshell. Just kidding. But seriously, I denied liking pink because it didn't seem cool to like it in high school, but I could never avoid liking this really cute pink top or this really pretty pink lace bag, y'know? It was inevitable for me and now I embrace all things pink, I just cannot help it, and this outfit is one of my absolute favourites. It's pink, it's girly and it's perfect for Spring!
Quote me on this, I will never have enough clogs this Spring/Summer because they literally go with everything and feel incredibly comfortable. And circle skirts, whether it be embellished, embroidered or basic, you will most likely catch me in it for the majority of this season.
The words "pink" and "girly" reflect my style perfectly. I'm the ultimate girly-girl, and I couldn't be prouder.

Weekly Wishlist: October 13 - October 19

Hi loves,
I slowly got back into doing these wishlists about a month ago, and slowly got off edge again, but don't worry, I'm going to make these as weekly as possible (even in my busy schedule, grr!!) because I think they're so much fun to make and it actually helps me remember what I want to buy. Although, with Christmas right around the corner, it might not even be so necessary for me to buy them all for myself *wink wnk*.
{I do realize everything is from Forever New. Honestly, this is a major wake-up call to me realizing just how much I love them.}
This week I am wishing for:

  1. Forever New kayla round cosmetic case. Don't get me wrong, I currently love my cosmetic case, but the thing is I've accumulated so much makeup that it all doesn't fit (yes, I regularly remove makeup whenever I realise it is coming to its expiration). I've seen this in person at the stores, and it's so spacious, it's absolutely perfect!
  2. Forever New heidi extra large 2014 diary. I bought a small 2013 diary and it's felt like it's been heaven sent because as someone who is constantly admiring to be organised, I finally had my chance to be organised this year and with everything I've had going on this year, I'm so glad I had this. So for the coming year (yes, believe it or not, 2014 is coming sooner than we thought, where did the time go, right?) I want the extra large diary to document everything next year has to hold for me!
  3. Forever New pia pintuck pillow. The moment I found out about how Forever New was releasing a home collection, I couldn't contain my excitement. As pricey as these pillows are, and although they most certainly will get ruined in my bedroom, I think they're as gorgeous as hell and I badly want them in my life. I love interior decorating, and I love decorating my room, so to add these would actually just complete my room.
  4. Forever New lana lipstick pens. My Typo pens constantly run out on me, so I think it's probably a time for a change, and where else apparently has cute pens? My best girl friend, Forever New. They're so cute and they come in a pack of three's; absolutely perfect for my pencil case!
  5. Forever New charlotte large brush set. I have been on the look-out for Forever New's 16-brush set since last year and finally a new set has been released and I can't wait for get my hands on them immediately!!!! I mean, sure, I can buy it online, but I prefer to hold it in my hand in stores and purchase it while chatting with the sales assistant about how badly I want her job. Yeah, it's happened. But seriously, I'm impatient so that's probably an explanation as to why I prefer shopping at the mall than online. And besides, I'd want to feel these brushes before I buy them to make sure they live up to the standards I've grown in my mind.
  6. Forever New paloma pearl pillow. Ah, the home collection. I see this at every Forever New store and want to just take it to the counter and bring it home. It's so pretty! A pearl embellished pillow? How does one not fall in love with that? Impossible.
If you're looking for me next week, I'll be in Forever New.
Until my next post,
Danica xo

Baroque Shoot

Hey girlies,
So, the other day the awesome trio worked on a fabulous shoot (the awesome trio being myself, Pauline and Kirsten) at Pauline's uni's studio. We had a professional makeup artist from a beauty college do Kirsten's makeup for the shoot, and I completed the styling for the shoot. I really enjoyed working on this shoot because the fashion was totally wearable for anyone who was willing to pull it off!
The theme for the shoot was baroque, which is a characteristic style developed from art and architecture in Europe in the early 17th century to the mid 18th century. It uses emphasized dramatic strained effected bold curve forms in apparel.
Enough babbling, I'm sure you want to get straight into the images from the shoot. Take note, these are the edited versions and were the best of the best. Who knows, I may upload the other images later on, but you'll just have to keep checking back!

A stolen shot of me looking like I know what I'm doing.. But seriously though, fun shoot!

It's a pity the best shots aren't showing the heels we picked out for the outfit, but still, it looks amazing, right?
I always enjoy working with these girls especially since these are my first styling jobs, so it's a ton of fun to work with a model and a photographer who are both such great friends of mine.

Model: Kirsten Batongbacal
Stylist: Danica Sarza
Makeup Artist: Emily Carson

Just sneakily, I may post my faves from the shoot in a couple of days, so keep an eye out for those extra shots!

Until my next post,

As busy as I've been, blogging has been my getaway. I may not be posting as much as I use to, but I do write a few posts and then draft them. Even not published, blogging's been an incredible release to keep me sane.

While I've been busy though, I've had so much going on with college and intern, and then balancing that with school and friends, and also getting my styling portfolio together. But I managed to squeeze in some time to have an interview with a reporter from Mt Druitt Standard local newspaper, and a photo shoot at the college during the holidays with my careers advisor, Bryce.

So this Outfit of the Day post is the photos from my shoot (well, the best of).
The Fashion Institute is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. Every single day that I have class, I'm so eager to learn purely based on the fact that I'll be sitting in a breathtaking classroom and listening to fashion geniuses for two hours. A fab thing about TFI is they've recently added afternoon classes, which I'm so surprisingly happy about! Sitting my booty on ghost chairs and laying out my folder and books on the pure white tables always requires an immediate Instagram snap.

As for my outfit, I knew I was going to be photographed, so I knew I had to look much nicer than I normally do. Believe it or not, I almost turned up to college in a tutu, but no, I resisted and decided on something much more simple, classic yet chic.
I love sequins, and incorporating it into my shoot outfit was the best choice I could've made because the entire outfit is extraordinarily simple, but the pink sequin top said a lot about my personality.
Ever since I'd purchased the black kitty flats, I'd practically lived in them. They matched every single outfit I'd put together and were absolutely adorable. It was the perfect finishing touch.
A black blazer is so versatile and works well with anything to give it a sophisticated finish. It wasn't too cold out, but I still wanted to have something wrapped around me as I walked to the college. I couldn't decide on what jacket would work well with my outfit, but the classic blazer always works.
Beauty wise, to finish off the entire look, I wore my Rimmel London lippie and I love how creamy this is, but also very long lasting.

So since the photo shoot two weeks ago, the article was finally released yesterday!
I'm so so so thankful and grateful for all the opportunities I've received through The Fashion Institute. It makes me sad that I'm halfway through my time here, but it's honestly been the best experience ever.
I love this college and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to put their best foot forward into the fashion industry. I've learnt so much from the best teachers, and I just feel incredibly lucky.

5 Things to Spring into Spring

If the past week is anything to go by, clearly Spring is here and here to stay (well, for the next 3 months, then we'll be soaking up the Summer sun) and if anything, we should get out of our Winter funk and prepare our body, skin and style for the warmer seasons to come.
I bring forth a post to possibly help you out a bit and give you 5 tips on what you should to help you Spring into Springtime!

1. Get up at around 7am every morning and go for a morning stroll/bike ride.
The sun is the nicest early in the AM, so make sure you consume all of that healthy vitamin D early in the morning, whether it be with your significant other, your kids, or maybe even plan a few mornings with a few of your best girl friends to go for a morning stroll or bike ride, then grab a cheeky breakfast afterwards.

2. Drink plenty of water - but don't hold back on those smoothies and fruit salads!
As a regular water drinker, I can tell you how much good it can do for your body and skin. So drink plenty of water throughout Spring (and also Summer), but enjoy a smoothie or two when you're given the opportunity. They're delicious and depending on what you get, rather good for you!
Another one of my Spring time faves is a delicious and cold bowl of fruit salad; chopped up kiwi fruit, bananas, peaches, watermelon, oranges, and the best bunch of the berries.

3. Apply at least two layers of sunscreen - you're going to need it!
Obviously, the sun is popular during the hot seasons, so is its best friend sunburn - so layer on that sunscreen when you hit the beach, or even just go out to run errands. The sun is harshest during the middle of the day, so be sure you're wearing at least 2 layers of sunscreen.

4. Invest in a wide-brimmed sun hat.
As I've mentioned, the sun is its brightest and harshest during these warm seasons, so getting yourself a stylish and versatile sun hat is a must, especially if you're going to be spending a lot of your time outdoors (the beach and the park are calling your name as we speak.)

5. Get yourself five pretty sundresses - you'll get so much use out of them!
One of the reasons as to why I love Spring time is because pretty sundresses are instantly back. Seeing such stylish ladies rocking the look on the streets inspires me and I just love the entire girly vibe. Sundresses are flattering for any body shape, and are so easy to style. Tip? Pair them with your best cork wedges, and that sun hat we talked about, and you'll instantly be chic.

So that's it from me. I sure hope you found this helpful because I actually really enjoyed making this for you.

Until my next post,
Danica xo
