Simple Interior

For someone like me, my bedroom is my getaway. It holds everything I own and hold close to my heart. I think it's important to have your room represent you. Let it speak for you in the best of its abilities. Decorate it the way you want to. Add your favourite things, and make sure to put them on display so that anyone who visits your room can see.
I've had my own room ever since I was 12, and I never fully understood the terms of "interior decorating". Now don't be fooled, I attempted many tries to decorate my room to represent me, but it just never felt right. Obviously, at such a young age, I gave up because it didn't mean so much to me. As long as it had a bunch of my stuff in it, and was clean, that's all I cared about.
Until this year, I created a wish list, wrapped my head around it, got to saving, and managed to gather up enough dollars to buy everything that was on my "reinvent my room" list.
This image is half of how my room looks. I simply wanted to parade my clothing rack and television stand.
Also, that magazine pile has stacked up even more. I just can't help it.

My room is finally up to the standards I want it to be, my only wish is to have a much larger closet (praying for a walk-in someday like Sex and the City.)

Until my next post,

Mink Pink Warehouse Sale

For once I am on time with a blog post. No, I am not three months late posting it. Yes, this happened yesterday. Rain, hail or storm couldn't stop my gal pals and I to head out to the city and attend the Mink Pink warehouse sale where everything was under $10! That blasted event had me on my knees, digging through boxes to find some goodies in tiny sizes, but nevertheless, of course, the bargain buyer that I am, I managed to find a few good pieces and *deep breath* I am ready to expose them.

Black & white gingham dress by Mink Pink

My three girlfriends and I all bought the same dress. We couldn't help it! It looks super cute on, just as it does off and hanging on the racks! I quote one of my best friends, "I look like Ariana Grande!" and look like Ariana we all did. Good gracious! $10 for this beauty? What a steal!

Black flowy crop top by Mink Pink
I love anything flowy. Especially for the Summer. There's something comfortable about them and they fit nicely. Not too tight, but not too loose where it can fall at the seams. It's just right. Surprisingly enough, I don't have a basic piece like this in my closet yet, so it was a simple yes from me.

Black plain tee by Mink Pink
I actually don't have a basic black shirt, so for $5, this was a "no-brainer"!

White & floral chiffon top
One of my friends actually found this, and I ended up really adoring it. Floral pocket and floral neckline? Too cute! It's really simple and basic, so it's a lot easier to style and incorporate into my wardrobe. It's not a crop top, but it hits just above the waist, so it doesn't make me look like a total midget! It fits just perfectly.

Fuschia high-waist shorts by Mink Pink
These go really well with the black flowy crop top. I contemplated a lot on whether or not to purchase this, but in the end, I couldn't resist. I don't own a pair of pink high-waist shorts and well, I love pink, so those two reasons were top best as to why I ended up getting these. Did I mention they're suede?

Cream high-waist shorts by Hunt No More
As you can probably tell, I love anything and everything high-waist. This is perfect! They're also such a soft cotton fabric, they're absolutely perfect for Summer. The cream finish makes it super easy to pair with other items I have. Plus, I love anything cream!

Ivory blazer by Hunt No More
It's not like a regular blazer (it's a cool blazer - sorry, had to), it has some unique cuts on the neck and some lace/tulle on the bottom half of the front of the blazer. I actually had to run to the rack to snag my size because these were up for $5 down from $129.95!!!!

Black high-waist shorts by Mink Pink
Believe it or not, I don't actually own a pair of plain black shorts, so considering these are high-waist makes me want it more than I want to know what Kimye's baby name is (honestly, when are they going to announce?!) You can pair basically anything with a solid, good and quality pair of black shorts!

Pink sequin top by Paint It Red
Once I got a hold of this, I actually couldn't let it go I have a sequin top, but it's way too dressy to wear every day, so when I found this, in a pastel pink, I had to savage it from being groped by vultures who wanted it just as bad. Why? It was $5!!!

Green and pink floral flowy top by Quirky Circus
This was one of the first pieces I picked up. I wasn't sure if I would like it. But once I saw and felt it on, I became attached. Of course I was freezing my arms off, but it's perfect for, as said earlier, the Summer. It's breezy and comfortable.

There you have it. A few images of the pieces I picked up from the Mink Pink warehouse sale! It was such a good day with my girls. Really missed them. Never go to warehouse sales alone; always bring your girlfriends! It makes it about 200x more fun!

Until my next post,

New In: Michael Kors

I'd always dreamt of owning anything Michael Kors so when one day mum came home with a brand spankin' new MK bag, I was more than over the moon! But then a few weeks later, I came home from college, and found an MK box on my dresser. Suddenly going through a silent breakdown in my mind, I immediately opened it, and found a beautiful gold watch (and did a tiny squeal) (okay, a really loud squeal.) Mum had gotten me an early birthday gift!

The MK bag is a perfect little bucket tote bag. I love carrying it because it makes me look like I have money to blow on whatever my heart desires, when in reality, I'm rolling on a bank account of nada.
Considering it's an open bucket tote bag, I can fit so much in there, you'd expect to see my pet dinosaur in there too, (just kidding, my pet dinosaur stays home 24/7) but seriousl, there's so much space, it's a girl's ultimate dream. Especially a girl like me - one who carries basically her entire room with her wherever she goes (I quietly struggle when I have to bring a small bag or a clutch when I go out.)

I don't have many white bags, or at all, so it felt fabulous to add this baby to my collection. Who refuses a Michael Kors bag when they aren't the ones rolling out the cash for it? Certainly not I!

Since receiving these precious goodies, they've ventured out into the world with me on various occasions. So much fun considering they always seem to complete all of my outfits.

Can you believe we're halfway through the year? Well, if any of you have recently had your birthday pass by and you've turned the fragile age of __, comment below what your fave gifts were! I would love to hear them.

Until my next post,
XO

Internship at DOLLY Magazine!

If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or are friends with me on Facebook, I'm sure you'd know by now that I've scored an internship with Australia's number one Teen magazine, Dolly magazine! I had a trial for SHOP magazine earlier this year, but I'm actually so thankful I got the internship at Dolly because although it's a teen mag, it's also such a fun place to work at!

For obvious reasons, I'm not allowed to post images of where I work because of how magazines shoot things 3-4 months in advanced, but maybe once the issue has been released, I'll upload some photos (if my supervisor allows me to) just so you can see the space I work in. I find it magical, others would find it ordinary.

My supervisor is such a lovely person and she is super kind! I work alone (no other interns are beside me, I'm just accompanied by my supervisor), for the most part, but it's okay because apparently I seem to get a lot done and am rather speedy at doing so! Besides, I like it better that way. I work in the fashion cupboard, and to be honest, it's a dream. I get to handle all these clothes, shoes and accessories that I wish I could teleport into my own closet.

This coming week will be my second week, but also my first week at Tailormaid Communications PR, so I'm actually handling two internships at the same time, and actually wouldn't have it any other way!

Seeing as I've only just started at Dolly, I'm still learning the gist of everything, so I mainly work in the fashion cupboard handling invoices and returns, but I'm so excited to continue learning and hopefully venture into helping work at a fashion shoot to help style. I definitely want to get as much knowledge as I can whilst I'm interning.

Watch this tag for some updates. I'm trying to get my time management sorted because, let's be honest, right now it's absolutely appalling. I'm really hoping to get some new features up and better quality images. Right now, my blog book is filled with so many ideas, all I've gotta do is put them in action and hopefully have them turn out to be a success.

Until my next post,
XO

Celebrity Dress-Ups: Lauren Conrad

What I'm Wearing:
Top: Ally Fashion
Pants: Glassons
Heels: Rubi Shoes
Bag: Vintage

What Makeup I'm Wearing:
Benefit Cosmetics That Gal Brightening Face Primer
Maybelline FIT ME in 220
Sportsgirl Get Cheeky Cheek & Eye Shimmer
Beauty Attitude Jumbo Lipstick Pencil in Pom Pom
Face of Australia Sheer Gloss Lip Crayon in Cupcake

If you know me well enough, you'd know that I very well look up to Lauren Conrad in complete awe. She is incredible in all aspects of everything she does, and I've just always been inspired by her. Her classy fashion always puts me in a spin because everything just always looks clean and classy.

In this post of Celebrity Dress-Ups, I recreate one of Lauren Conrad's outfits. Being the classy and elegant lady that she is, this is a classic look for her. Working the polka dot print in with basics like black, you could never go wrong.

Lauren wears a pair of wet-look leggings, with a black & white polka dot blouse. Alongside her outfit, her accessories are impeccable with a turquoise over-sized clutch and a pair of black stiletto heels.

As for her her, she grabs a small piece of hair that frames her face, twists it, and pins it to the back of her head. Her makeup is flawless, and much so neutral. Keeping it rather simple for a night out. Lauren loves going for that glowing, sun-kissed look, so bronzer was the perfect choice to accompany her luscious gold locks.

So in this outfit, I replaced the black & white polka dot blouse with my navy chiffon polka dot ruffle blouse, and paired it with a pair of plain black skinny jeans. Another item I replaced was the turquoise over-sized clutch with my vintage light blue shoulder bag. What I kept the same were the black stiletto heels.

Instead of applying a nude lip, I decided to give it a bit more of a punch and add a light pink lippie. Works beautifully with the navy shade of my blouse.

So there you have it. A recreated look by yours truly, but originally created by the one and only gorgeous Lauren Conrad. Watch this tag for more!

Until my next post,

New In: Clinique

In the beginning of this month, I interned at a super top-secret event for Clinique. It was an amazing experience, and although it had only ran for two days, I learnt so much. My supervisor was such a fantastic boss and was the nicest lady ever.

When you intern/volunteer at events, you don't expect to receive anything except further knowledge and understanding, so you could imagine my surprise when just as we were about to leave, our supervisor came out with two bags of Clinique goodies to take home!

In the goodie bags, pictured above are precisely what were inside.
I haven't swatched any of them or tried any of these products, as I had gifted them as Mother's Day gifts to my own mother, and two of my teen mom friends for Mother's Day.

Nevertheless, I am forever thankful for receiving these goodies. I just get so many freebies, I love sharing them with people who've supported me through my endeavours.

Until my next post,
XO
