!!!WARNING: BURST OF SELFIES ARE COMING UP!!!
Hi loves,As you may already know, I recently received the famously popular lip kits created by the youngest Jenner of the (stylishly-dressed) clan. As someone who's not a major Kylie fan, I wasn't too fond of the craziness that came with trying to get my hands on a lip kit. But after some intense research (and by research, I, of course, mean YouTube beauty guru reviews), I decided to brave it out and attempted to purchase them when they were released at the beginning of the month. I successfully got 5 lip kits (2 for me, and 3 for my friends!)
Kylie Cosmetics claims the lip kits to be cruelty free, long-lasting and comfortable to wear. Continue reading to see if they actually live up to the hype.
First, let's talk about the packaging.
One word comes to mind when I see this: unique. I've honestly got to hand it to Kylie Jenner, she sure has an eye for details, because the packaging for the lip kits are interesting and quite pretty! I'll definitely be keeping these boxes and displaying them somewhere.
The lip kits come in a glossy white cardboard box with an image of a pair of lips with the lip colour dripping off of it. Labelled clearly and boldy is KYLIE to let you know exactly who created these majestic beauty products. On the back it has all of the ingredients listed, and a tip from Kylie which we all basically know. On top, it has a clear labelling on the colour of the lip kit, and is also coloured in the colour of the lip kit. Fancyyyy!
Now, as for the bottle and lip liners themselves, the lip liner is your typical pencil liner, but not. So hang on a minute while I explain, it may look like an ordinary liner but it's not at all a pencil. I forgot to photograph it with the lid off, but it's actually looks like a mechanical liner, but Kylie has said on her Twitter that you can actually sharpen this lip liner with your average liner sharpener!
The bottle is a plastic clear bottle which means you can easily see the colour of your product already: score!! Of course, Kylie's name is plastered all over the products, and honestly, I don't mind it at all.
So now let's get into the swatches of each lip kit colour! (Top is Candy K, bottom is Posie K)
First up will be Candy K!
So that was Candy K swatched on my lips.
Next up will be Posie K!
And that was Posie K swatched on my lips. As you can tell from the many selfies, I absolutely loooove this one!
Now on to the review!
Whilst I was researching these lip kits, I found something that all beauty gurus had commonly said, and that was that the liquid lipsticks all felt like you were wearing nothing at all. Now this is so incredibly true!!!!
When you first pull the application out of the tube, I was surprised to see there wasn't a more effective stopper for the liquid, because when you open it, the product is all over the doe-foot applicator (as it should be) but also along the entire wand, which means some of the product is being wasted, since the liquid lipstick is actually quite runny and thin, but still goes on smoothly and great!
You only require one thin layer as it is super pigmented, and has a strong smell of what seems to be vanilla ice cream - which I do not hate, whatsoever.
So what do these products not do? Well, they do not transfer at all (granted, I haven't used them whilst eating yet, so keep that in mind); they do not feel tacky or sticky at all; and they do not flake.
They were so incredibly hard to remove with my makeup wipes, so you know for sure that these are long-lasting, and were made to love your lips.
The lip liners are super creamy and soft, and are fragrance free. I don't think it's necessary to put the lip liner on before the liquid lipstick itself since it's pigmented enough, but it's entirely up to personal preference. You could probably wear the liner on its own sometimes because they're that beautiful, but of course, they will transfer and come off.
So there you have it, loves. I hope this review was helpful to you, and that you now have decided you need these in your life, because I had the exact same thought when I first watched/read reviews!
I'm still awaiting for Dolce K to come in,
and will be attempting a purchase for Koko K & Kourt K in the future,
so watch out for those swatches & reviews.
Filled with love,
Danica xo
Gorgeous! I've been looking at getting some but the release time always confuses me and the conversion from USD to AUD plus shipping just kills me haha! But seriously tempting, they both look gorg on you!

Aw, thank you Sue! x
DeleteThe release time can get pretty confusing, but I usually just look at the LA release time and then google that time to convert it to Sydney time haha! But I would honestly recommend them. I'm not even a major Kylie Jenner fan and I can honestly say the product is worth the hype and money. I'm constantly reaching for these!
